The sophomore release from Ohio band 20GOTO10 is a collection of mid-to-down tempo dark synth music that is very haunting and contemplative.  Usually, when the words "synth pop" is used to describe a music style, I think of bands like Joy Electric- sugary happy synth pop with an underpinning of melancholy.  On Elizabeth, Haunted By Ghosts, from the first track the mood is set, and it's a dark one, which is not necessarily a bad thing.  Far from it.

Musically, the word "minimalist" comes to mind, as the songs set an even pace and don't barrage you with massive amounts of synths and instrumentation.  Sara Eugene's vocals are a perfect complement to the mysterious and haunting sounds, very beautiful and dark.  Lyrically, the songs on the CD are artistically poetic and deep.  The production is very good as well.

I was pleasantly surprised with this album.  It will definitely find play time on my computer, mostly at night.
